The Detroit Tigers are out of the 2010 MLB playoffs, with the Minnesota Twins taking the AL Central again. But fans are getting ready for playoff baseball and excitement that comes with the most stimulating time in baseball. The quest for the World Series is like nothing else, when each and every pitch has incredible ramifications. There are some really good teams in the playoffs this year, with the past two World Series winners the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies in the post-season once again. Each year baseball playoff tickets get more and more popular, but this year the action is out of control! The Yankees and Phillies have two of the most dedicated fans in the sporting world, and with both fans eager to see their team take the first World Series of the new decade. Baseball tickets are hot sellers throughout the summer, but the intensity for demand really heats up when the post-season gets here. Careers are made or destroyed in October baseball, and who knows what timeless moments will happen during the 2010 playoffs? Get your tickets ready soon so you can see the historic moments live and in person. So, with the MLB playoffs ready to start on, Wednesday, October 6, here’s a look ahead at the 2010 playoff teams.

American League playoff outlook

New York Yankees

It shouldn’t be a secret that the NY Yankees are again in the post-season, but this year there Yankees look a lot more vulnerable than they did last year. But that hasn’t really affected sales of Yankees playoff tickets at all! The “Core Four” of Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada are older, and they have questions around them. But the “core four” don’t raise as many questions as the Yankees pitching rotation does. #1 and 20-game-winner C.C. Sabathia has again been incredible this season, but he is just one man. The Yankes will be a favorite to win when CC starts, but Pettitte, A.J. Burnett, Javy Vazquez or Phil Hughes have to step up. But they are the Yankees, and they do have the talents to get back to selling Yankees World Series tickets again for a repeat.

But there are three more teams in the AL aiming for payoff glory:

Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays and the Yankees have been swapping the AL East lead all season. They both want home field advantage, but both teams are more than capable of winning on the road. Its a fact that Tampa Bay Rays playoff tickets are going to be hot sellers regardless. They Tampa Bay Rays arguably have the strongest starting rotation in the American League, and while the offense has been up and down they have been winning down the stretch. Third baseman Evan Longoria and first baseman/DH Carlos Pena are electric hitters eager to win the World Series with the Rays. The Rays don’t sell many regular season tickets, but Rays playoff tickets are a different story. All the Rays fans come out for the post-season, and should they end up selling ALCS baseball tickets they are then the fans will really turn out. Manager Joe Maddon has been great with his young staff for years now, and he knows what it takes to get his players to perform. The Rays are causing some major noise in the American League, and at gunpoint they are this writers pick to represent the AL in the Fall Classic.

Texas Rangers

Hopes are high in Arlington with the Texas Rangers winning the AL West for the first time in a long time. They can’t get enough sports in Texas, and while TX Rangers playoff tickets are definitely going to be hot sellers. Outfielder Josh Hamilton has been a great hitter all season. After being traded by the Mariners, Cliff Lee has been the ace of the Rangers staff, and looks to be just as good as he was with the Phillies last year. Pair him up with DH Vlad Guerrero and the Rangers are a tough out. Vlad’s got the post-season experience, and will be important for the Rangers this year. They cannot wait to see how the Rangers respond to being the post-season for the first time in over a decade, and Rangers Ballpark at Arlington is going to be rocking for sure this October. Texas Rangers tickets are going to be going really fast, and you do not want to miss it.

Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins beat out the Tigers and White Sox for the AL Central crown, and fans are excited! All of Minneapolis is on cloud nine right now, and MN Twins playoff tickets will not be along very long. But Twin fans are used to getting to the playoffs, the trick is to win. The Twins enter with a potent lineup led by Joe Mauer. Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire has his work cut out for him, and with the best Twins roster in a long time, the Twins will be dangerous. Those fans will definitely want to check out cheap World Series tickets for sure should Minnesota baseball win out. Seeing the Twins win the World Series at Target Field would be something else!

The American League features four solid teams aiming for the same prize, but there can only be one winner. You can be sure playoff baseball is going to the intense, so try and take in a game. MLB playoff tickets don’t cost as much as you think. Get those baseball tickets right away and watch all the post-season action in person!
