The Minnesota Twins faced off against the Detroit Tigers yesterday at Metrodome with the Twins securing the victory 5 to 1. Twins pitcher Kevin Slowey (4.57 ERA) got the win, while Andrew Oliver (3.00 ERA) took the loss for the Tigers. Kevin Slowey went 6 innings for the Twins, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and one earned run with one walk and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Twins was Brian Duensing (1.83), Matt Guerrier (1.72), Jose Mijares (2.25), and Jon Rauch (2.40). The Tigers’s starter Andrew Oliver went 6 innings, allowed 8 hits, one home run and 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Casey Fien (0.00) also pitched for the Tigers. With the win, Slowey’s record goes to 8-5, while Oliver drops to 0-2.
In addition to the 5 runs, the Twins put up 9 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Twins, as nobody managed more than 2 hits.
